Hello. Thank you so much for your interest in Waking Monologues. I hope it is helpful to you on your journey. I am using this blog post position to keep interested readers up-to-date on the progress of this site, the book and other events that come along. If you have any questions for me you can send them through the form on the Meet Holly page. I will try and answer them here.

Dear Readers,

With just three weeks to go, I wanted to send out a quick note. First, I have decided to add an epilogue to my book. There is potentially enough material for a second book. I figured, with an epilogue, it would open up discussions on how the book ends with potential publishers.

That being said, I decided to move my book club reading to the January meeting. My deadline for the first draft is now December 8th. I am in good shape to meet this deadline as I am just finishing the last chapter. With a current total of 62,306 words, I still have one waking monologue, the last chapter and the epilogue to add. Whether or not the epilogue goes to the book club is yet to be seen.

Next steps, after the book club, include my advanced submission to the Southern California Writer's Conference in February. There, I will submit the first 15 pages of my book for direct review by an agent. Additionally, I will be working on my book proposal and the query letter.

The bigger question in my mind, as the completion of this book draws near, is if I will find a publisher. And, more importantly, if I do, am I ready for my story to be out in the world. The goal, as you know, is to help others come back from self-demise and destruction. In order to do so, I have to really put myself, and the people I love, out there. I guess I will cross that bridge when the time comes.

In the meantime, I am off to finish the manuscript. Wow, I have never done this before. It feels good to be so close. Thanks, especially to my followers and supporters, for believing in me along my quest to write and publish.

Very kindly yours,
Holly McNeill
